The phone rang. I answered it, "hello?"
The man on the line quickly said, "hi this is so-and-so from [something] student visa."
"What?" I asked.
He repeated, "hi this is so-and-so from [something] student visa. Who am I speaking with."
I thought, "don't call me and ask me who I am."
That sucked.
Posted by elsie at September 14, 2005 03:45 PMI think you need to visit www.donotcall.gov. Then if you get another call again you can sue them for all their worth!
Posted by: Urgo at September 16, 2005 12:47 AMI think it's a max of 10 grand per offense or at least I heard that somehwere. But still... That's a lot of money! :-D
It's kinda funny that he asked you who you were. I'd be like, "Screw you, biatch!"
The very first day I got a land line, I got a phone call from someone at AAA. She asked for someone with a Latino/Hispanic name. I said they had the wrong number. The woman went on to say, "Have you heard of AAA? Maybe you can help me."
I just hung up after a short pause.
The next day after getting another similar phone call, I signed up for the donotcall and I haven't gotten another! Now *THAT'S* a commercial!
