The Rain

It's raining outside. I can hear it through the screen door in the kitchen. I am sitting in my room at my computer desk. I love the rain. It sounds so pretty and makes everything smell clean and fresh. The raindrops make noise when they hit the leaves on the trees and the roofs of the apartments. I could listen to it all night.

On Being a Student

Being a student is so much work. Let's hope it's worth it. I was up so late last night writing a program at the last minute. I got full credit for it, thank god! But, I was unable to stay awake during class today. I went home to take a nap, and I slept through French class.

After school, I went for a bike ride all around North Village with my kids. After that we had dinner: fish sticks, grilled cheese, sliced tomato and black olives. Then, I gave the kids a bath. Now comes the hardest part of the day... bedtime. Oh, I hope they go right to sleep. I have homework to do.

Growing Up

My little girl went to her first day of kindergarten yesterday. She is getting so big. I'm very proud of her. She didn't hesitate to get on the bus, and she is very good at making friends. When I put her to bed last night, she told me all about the things she did at school that day. I love her!

The Wedding

I had the best time yesterday. I went to a wedding with Ellie. We didn't see the entire wedding ceremony because we showed up late. They were just having communion when we got there. I don't take communion anymore.

The bride was beautiful. The groom was handsome. Everyone was friendly and happy. A picture perfect wedding. It hardly occured to me that I didn't know anyone there.

The day went by slowly, as it took a long time to serve the courses of the meal. Once that was finished the bride threw the bouquet, and the groom threw the garter belt. Then they had the dances, which included the bride dancing with the groom, the bride dancing with her father, the groom dancing with his mother and the entire wedding party dancing.

When they opened up the dance floor to everyone, we danced all night. My favorite dance was the Polka. I never thought that learning the Polka would come in handy, but it was a lot of fun.
