So Annoying

Ugh. I am getting comments that I don't like. The other day, I got one from "atkinsdiet" and today I got one from "life insurance quote." They make stupid comments like, "nice coment" and "I'm having problems displaying your style sheet - maybe because I'm running safari on OSX?"

What is this? Automated commenting? I don't like it. Not at all. I'll just have to delete them.

CARS

There was an award ceremony at my daughter's school. Emily recieved a "Catch A Rising Star" award at school today. Matthew and I attended. I was feeling so proud of her. I think Matthew was too, because in the middle of the event he told me "where's Emily? I want to hug her!" Some of the teachers also performed some Puerto Rican cultural music because November is the month to celebrate that in Amherst. And some of the kids read poetry between awards. One boy read a poem that I really identified with... check it out.

I Should Have Studied

I didn't study for the test
and now I'm feeling blue.
I copied off your paper
and I flunked it just like you.

My Horiscope

Scorpio Horoscope for Tuesday November 11, 2003 by Astrocenter.com

Your philosophy of life comes to you naturally, dear Scorpio. Others need to study, listen to experts, or sign on to various allegiances. You, on the other hand, already have a profound outlook on life that you surely inherited from your past experiences. It would be interesting for you to expand upon your philosophy a bit, and try to turn it into something concrete.

Scorpio Profile by Astronet

Scorpio is a Water element, and this makes it a somewhat enigmatic sign. Water is more receptive and introverted, but Scorpio is a Plutonian-power force. Perhaps that is why Scorpio is the sign capable of the greatest metamorphosis and renewal. If we think about it, we may look at a lake and see the interplay of light and shadows. Unless we explore further, we cannot tell just how deep it is -- or what is going on within. You'll find great love, feeling, desire and sensitivity when we probe the depths of mysterious Scorpio. A fixed nature makes Scorpio favor stability. Without some positive energy, Scorpio can go to extremes. The Scorpion may use his or her the strength to exert power over others. Love can become a stronger passion than even the Scorpio can handle, and possessiveness or jealousy can surface. Independence brings balance. The Scorpio with inner security can let partners explore and remain receptive to their needs.

Dear Jessie

I sang my children to sleep. It was a beautiful sight. I am not the best singer, but that's not important. It means so much more than that. And this is what I sang to them:

Dear Jessie
Written by Madonna and Patrick Leonard

Baby face don't grow so fast
Make a special wish that will always last
Rub this magic lantern
He will make your dreams come true for you

Ride the rainbow to the other side
Catch a falling star and then take a ride
To the river that sings and the clover that
Brings good luck to you, it's all true

Pink elephants and lemonade, dear Jessie
Hear the laughter running through the love parade
Candy kisses and a sunny day, dear Jessie
See the roses raining on the love parade

If the land of make believe
Is inside your heart it will never leave
There's a golden gate where the fairies all wait
And dancing moons, for you

Close your eyes and you'll be there
Where the mermaids sing as they comb their hair
Like a fountain of gold you can never grow old
Where dreams are made, your love parade

Pink elephants and lemonade, dear Jessie
Hear the laughter running through the love parade
Candy kisses and a sunny day, dear Jessie
See the roses raining on the love parade

Your dreams are made inside the love parade
It's a holiday inside the love parade

On the merry-go-round of lovers and white turtle doves
Leprechauns floating by, this is your lullaby
Sugarplum fingertips kissing your honey lips
Close your eyes sleepy head, is it time for your bed
Never forget what I said, hang on you're already there

Close your eyes and you'll be there
Where the mermaids sing as they comb their hair
Like a fountain of gold you can never grow old
Where dreams are made, your love parade

Pink elephants and lemonade, dear Jessie
Hear the laughter running through the love parade
Candy kisses and a sunny day, dear Jessie
See the roses raining on the love parade
