Spire Sucks!!!

Earlier this week, I tried to get the spire printout for my Fall 04 class schedule. Guess what? Spire was down. I asked a reliable source at OIT who informed me that Spire was down for the day, due to software updates. Fair enough, I thought.

Today I went to spire and found this message:

SPIRE is not available due to a software upgrade. We expect SPIRE to be back online July 29th. We apologize for any inconvenience.

That's funny because today is the 30th. I went to OIT. I found this message:

The new version of SPIRE will be released today, Friday, July 30 at mid-day. Due to the delay, the Add/Drop period (originally scheduled to start Monday, August 2) will begin on Monday, August 9.

It's a little after 10:00 a.m. and I hope that Spire will be up soon. I need my class schedule!!!

About a Cat

The Scavenger

Siamese cat
I love you
Your fur is soft
Your eyes are blue

You used to be scared
To go out on your own
Now you can't get enough
And I'm all alone

Be careful out there
Watch out for skunks
Squirrels and bears
Scavenge for junk

Black cat you sit
Under the moon
You're still mine
Come back soon

Out lurking beneath
The cover of night
Just out of reach
But not out of sight
I hope you're allright

I'm waiting for the
Coming sun
We had a fight
And you have won

Tabby cat
I'm watching you
You left me here
We're not through

Come back inside
Come out of the cold
I'm afraid you'll get hungry
Or lonely or stolen

Smelling the grass
Tasting Freedom
When the sun rises
Will you come home

Listening to the Carpenters

I'm just listening to the capenters, holding up an ice pack to my jaw. I had my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday. It wasn't that bad. I got a good buzz from the laughing gas and after that everything was kinda funny. It was more like a pink floyd movie than a trip to the doctors.

I WON'T LAST A DAY WITHOUT YOU

Day after day I must face a world of strangers
Where I don't belong, I'm not that strong
It's nice to know that there's someone I can turn to
Who will always care, you're always there

When there's no getting over that rainbow
When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you

So many times when the city seems to be without a friendly face
A lonely place
It's nice to know that you'll be there if I need you
And you'll always smile, it's all worthwhile

When there's no getting over that rainbow
When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you

Touch me and I end up singing
Troubles seem to up and disappear
You touch me with the love you're bringing
I can't really lose when you're near

If all my friends have forgotten half their promises
They're not unkind, just hard to find
One look at you and I know that I could learn to live
Without the rest, I found the best

When there's no getting over that rainbow
When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you

When there's no getting over that rainbow
When my smallest of dreams won't come true
I can take all the madness the world has to give
But I won't last a day without you

This song is one of the most meaningful, now that she's gone.

A SONG FOR YOU

I've been so many places in my life and time
I've sung a lot of songs I've made some bad rhyme
I've acted out my love in stages
With ten thousand people watching
But we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you

I know your image of me is what I hope to be
I've treated you unkindly but darlin' can't you see
There's no one more important to me
Darlin' can't you please see through me
Cause we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you

You taught me precious secrets of the truth witholding nothing
You came out in front and I was hiding
But now I'm so much better and if my words don't come together
Listen to the melody cause my love is in there hiding

I love you in a place where there's no space or time
I love you for in my life you are a friend of mine
And when my life is over
Remember when we were together
We were alone and I was singing this song for you

You taught me precious secrets of the truth witholding nothing
You came out in front and I was hiding
But now I'm so much better and if my words don't come together
Listen to the melody cause my love is in there hiding

I love you in a place where there's no space or time
I love you for in my life you are a friend of mine
And when my life is over
Remember when we were together
We were alone and I was singing this song for you
We were alone and I was singing this song for you

Like Pulling Teeth

That's an interesting expression. It's used to describe something that's painful and difficult. I'll find out soon enough what it's like to have teeth pulled. I'm going in at 10:00 to have my wisdom teeth extracted.

On a lighter note, I'd like to congratulate Siokaos. He has joined the ranks of our favorite bloggers, Urgo, Afrosoft and Hoopty. I have officially blogrolled him. I can see him now:

Today... today... today... I consider myself the luckiest man... man... man... on the face of the earth... earth... earth...

Poison Girl Star

An interesting site... if you like that sort of thing. She took my piggy picture, which happens to be on one of my most popular blog entries. Anyway, she has a link to this Highway of Life generator. I like it!

Cancel my subscription... I'm done with your issues.

My ideal job is... Well it depends on whether or not I use my full name.

When I enter my full name, it predicts Elizabeth, Your ideal job is a Shoplifting.

When I enter my first and last name, it predicts that my ideal job is a Hypnotist.

When I enter my first, middle and last, it predicts that my ideal job is The job you have now. That would be student.

Let's see, a shopplifting, hypnotist, student. That works. I can't forget my alter-ego. Elsie, Your ideal job is a Mad Scientist.

What about Adam Duritz? He's a singer/songwriter, but his ideal job is something different. Type it in and see.

What's your ideal job???
