It's my special day! And you're here so you must be thinking of me. I am thinking of you too.
I am listening to Confessions on a Dancefloor and it is sooo good. Thank you :)
Happy birthday to me!

There are 232 graduate students in computer science.... 48 are women (including distance students).

I've been feeling and thinking a lot lately. About being unhappy. About being lonely. So hard to put into words how I feel or why I feel this way. A friend of mine wrote to me:
When is your birthday? Oh... I think you may have told me, but I forgot (I am ashamed if that is the case). What are you doing for your birthday?
I totally understand about feeling marginalized in compsci. Just stick it out for a few more months... you can do it!
I hope you aren't too sad or lonely out here. At least you have your family, right? Perhaps you need a new friend to shoot pool with or something... ;)
I am ok. Just getting sorta bored with school. Burned out, you know?
