Elvis knew

Elvis must have known how I feel today. But how could he have known? Unless I am Elvis. Yes! That's it! Elvis reincarnated! Which, by the way, is the name of my Vegas act.

Don’t Be Cruel

(words & music by otis blackwell - elvis presley)

You know I can be found,
Sitting home all alone,
If you can’t come around,
At least please telephone.
Don’t be cruel to a heart that’s true.

Baby, if I made you mad
For something I might have said,
Please, let’s forget the past,
The future looks bright ahead,
Don’t be cruel to a heart that’s true.
I don’t want no other love,
Baby it’s just you I’m thinking of.

Don’t stop thinking of me,
Don’t make me feel this way,
Come on over here and love me,
You know what I want you to say.
Don’t be cruel to a heart that’s true.
Why should we be apart?
I really love you baby, cross my heart.

Let’s walk up to the preacher
And let us say I do,
Then you’ll know you’ll have me,
And I’ll know that I’ll have you,
Don’t be cruel to a heart that’s true.
I don’t want no other love,
Baby it’s just you I’m thinking of.

Don’t be cruel to a heart that’s true.
Don’t be cruel to a heart that’s true.
I don’t want no other love,
Baby it’s just you I’m thinking of.

Unnoticed

With each quiet breath
Anothey day passes by
As I slip away

I Love You

I found this image online. It's called iloveyou.gif. Isn't that sweet? I am posting it to fill the whitespace on my page. Isn't that sweet?

Collective Soul

I used to love Collective Soul. I'd drive down the street in my white Camero with the stereo turned up listening to them. This is a great song from Hints, Allegations and Things Left Unsaid:

Wasting Time

Something’s going wrong inside of you
Burdens bearing down and seeping through
Well, I don’t want to bleed any more for you
And I don’t want to breathe any hatred too

Sitting while your world just floats around
Now you want to move ’cause it’s crashing down
Well, I don’t want to sing you guarantees
And I don’t want to cling to our use to be’s

So take your heart, take your soul
Just get yourself on out of here
Yeah, just take your hurt, take your pain
Just get yourself on out of here

Wasting time
That’s all you’ll do if you’re waiting for me
Wasting time
I don’t see what you think I see
Wasting time
That’s all you’ll do if you’re waiting for me
Wasting time
I don’t want what you think I need

Rambling

I was trying really fucking hard to make a joke, but it just wasn't funny. I wanted to make you smile, to connect with you on some level. There was a wall between us. It was more like a pane of glass. I saw you, but I could also see my own distorted reflection. I heard voices that belonged to me but said things that I didn't recognize. And neither of us were free.

March Equinox

Shafts of late-afternoon sunlight
Pierced the blinds and streaked the floor

Tears streaking her face
Like a jet streaking across the sky

The arrival of summer always saddens me
From the June solstice to the September equinox

Remember that one time
You tried to wash the dog in the sink

There were so many fun things to do
That I really hated to leave

The arrival of winter always saddens me
From the December solstice to the March equinox

Remember the heartbreaking grief
When the family dog died

The sad news about our uncle's death
Made my father cry
