Duncan's Coffee

Liz,

I have been suffering pangs of guilt about the $$ you put into the coffee fund -- and how little you got out of it!

Duncan

Duncan left me a note this morning and a gift card from Dunkin' Donuts. How sweet! He did it because I joined the "coffee club" shortly before swearing off caffeine.

Theme Songs

I grew up in the age of sitcoms. Do you recognize these theme songs? Have I left any out?

There’s a time for love and a time for living.
You take a chance and face the wind.
An open road and a road that’s hidden
A brand new life around the bend.

There were times when I lost a dream or two.
Found the trail, and at the end was you.
There’s a path you take and a path untaken
The choice is up to you my friend.

Nights are long but you’re on your way
To a brand new life,
Brand new life,
Brand new life around the bend.
*********************************************
Sometimes the world is perfect
nothin' to rearrange..
Sometimes you just
get a feeling like you need some kind of change.
No matter what the odds are this time,
nothing's gonna stand in my way.
This flame in my heart,
like a long lost friend,
gives every dark street a light at the end.
Standing tall
on the wings of my dreams.
Rise and fall
on the wings of my dreams.
Rain and thunder,
Wind and haze--I was bound for better days.
It's my life,
and my dream.
And nothing's gonna stop me now.
*********************************************
Maybe the world is blind,
Or just a little unkind.
Don't know.

Seems you can't be sure
Of anything anymore.
Although,

You maybe lonely and then,
One day you're smiling again.
Every time I turn around,
I see the girl that turns my world around.
Standing there...

Everytime I turn around,
Her spirit's lifting me right off the ground.
What's gonna be ?
Guess we'll just wait and see.
*********************************************
Making your way in the world today
Takes everything you've got;
Taking a break from all your worries
Sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came;
You want to be where you can see,
Our troubles are all the same;
You want to be where everybody knows your name.

Classes are over! Finally!

Yesterday was the last day of classes for winter session 2007. I have 2 papers to hand in on Monday, and I neeed to do that this weekend. I already celebrated on Wednesday with 3 martinis at the Moan and Dove. That was a really bad idea but I had fun in spite of myself.

So What'cha Want

A song popped into my head as I was sitting here in the campus center. I need to get my presentation finished before class.

Well I think I'm losing my mind this time
This time I'm losing my mind
That's right, said I think I'm losing my mind this time
This time I'm losing my mind

Winter

Classes will be over in 9 days. Winter session goes by so quickly. It hasn't really been winter, though. This year has been remarkably mild. Some could argue that this is the effect of global warming, which is being hurried along by humans. One internet article reads Global warming may be happening faster than we think.

FYI if you look in the thesaurus for the word hurry, you'll find my name.

Entry Word: hurry
Function: noun
Text: 1 excited and often showy or disorderly speed <after all her hurry to get her history report done on time, Elizabeth learned that it wasn't due till the following week>

Feminism Myth

Someone once asked me if I hated men. He got to the subject after he asked me where my children's father was. I thought it was an absurd question and I did not answer it. It seemed like he really wanted to know if I hated him because he was a man and wanted to know if he had any chance of getting to know me. Of course, he didn't because a. he was married and b. I was not interested in him.
